Ireland: A Food Story
Ireland is an ideal setting for an immersion into food, environment and cultural sustainability. Based throughout Ireland, students will use the lens of food to focus on food systems, policy and security issues. Led by MU faculty Candance Gabel and local chefs, botanist, farmers and businesses students will experience cooking classes, food demonstrations, distillery tours, purveyors, farmers from grass fed animal products to the bounty of the Atlantic and North Sea. Students will tour sites in Dublin, Sandy Cove, Skibbereen, Heir Island, Derryclough, Bunratty, Doolin, and Kilfinora. There will be free time for personal exploration in Dublin, Cobh, and Bunratty.
Students will stay at hotels in Dublin and Cobh and Bed and Breakfast facilities on Heir Island and Bunratty.
Students will earn three credits by participating in class discussions, program related experiences, pre-travel assignments and a reflection portfolio directed by University of Missouri faculty.

The financial aid that is typically available for regular classes at MU should apply to the cost of the program. Additional grants, loans or scholarships may be available to offset the extra costs incurred in this program. Non-refundable $100 deposit is required to hold a place in the program. The deposit money will be billed to your student account once you submit your online application.
Attend the information meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in 1205 University Place Apartment Building, Ste. 600.
