Zachary Grunewald, PhD student at NEP, was selected as a finalist by the American Physiological Society-Cardiovascular Section Awards Committee for the 2020 APS-Cardiovascular Section Outstanding Graduate Student Trainee Awards. Zachary’s abstract entitled “TRAF3IP2 ablation protects against obesity-associated glycemic dysregulation, elevated blood pressure, and endothelial dysfunction,” was amongst the most highly rated applications within a number of excellent applications submitted.

Zachary will orally present his research as part of the Featured Topic Session entitled “Cardiovascular Section Young Investigator Featured Topic” and compete for 1st ($1000), 2nd ($500) and 3rd ($500) prize placement on Monday, April 6, 2020 in San Diego, CA.
