Graduate Application Instructions

student completing applicationApplications to our graduate programs should be submitted by these deadlines. Applications for the MS-Exercise Physiology (internship option only) received after that date will still be considered, they will not be eligible for an assistantship. Admission at the beginning of spring semester is possible, but assistantship support is more readily available for fall semester admission.

Applications will be considered after these deadlines but they will not be eligible for all fellowships and assistantships.

Application Deadlines
PhD Program: December 30th   |   MS Program: February 15th

To apply online. All applications must be prepared and submitted online via the University of Missouri Graduate School.

All program-specific materials must be uploaded or submitted as part of your online application.

  1. Statement of Purpose: Upload a statement of purpose, indicating your academic/research interests and career goals to the “Supplemental Information” section of your online application.
  2. Resume or Vita: Upload a current resume or vita to the “Supplemental Information” section of your online application.
  3. Recommendations: Enter the required information for at least three recommenders in the “Recommendation” section of your online application. The recommenders will receive an email with instructions for completing and submitting your recommendation. Please ensure that the recommenders are aware of the departmental application deadlines.
  4. Video: Please record a 3-5 minute video of yourself about why you want to be in a graduate program, your academics and/or research interests, and why you want to attend MU.

The following materials should be sent directly to the Graduate School:

  • TOEFL scores (international applicants only)
  • Application fee
  • Video
To the Graduate School (210 Jesse Hall; Columbia, MO 65211): All required Graduate School documents, including on line application.
  • Statement of Purpose: Upload a Statement of Purpose, indicating your academic/research interests and career goals to the “Supplemental Information” section of your online application. All students applying to the Exercise Physiology Master’s program should indicate which area they are interested in: Internship or Thesis when completing this section.
  • Resume or Vita: Upload a current Resume or Vita to the “Supplemental Information” section of your online application.
  • Recommendations: Enter the required information for at least three recommenders in the “Recommendation: section of your online application. The recommenders will receive an e-mail with instructions for completing and submitting your recommendation. Please ensure that the recommenders are aware of the February 15 application deadline.
